The Oakland or San Francisco airports are closest. Note that if you are coming from Minnesota and renting a car, there are direct flights to Sacramento.
Public transportation to/from the OAK and SFO airports is excellent (although, not so great to/from the venue*):
From Oakland Airport (slightly closer) you'd grab the AirBart bus, which takes you to the Oakland Coliseum Bart Station. Buy a ticket and get on a 'Richmond' train.
From SFO Airport you catch a free tram to Bart. Buy a ticket and get on the 'Pittsburg' train, transfer at 12th St/Oakland City Center to the 'Richmond' train.
There are 3 different Bart stations in Berkeley depending on where you are staying. Hotel Shattuck is next to 'Downtown Berkeley Station', and Super 8 is near 'North Berkeley Station'.
Getting to Tilden Park:
Now that you're in Berkeley (peace, man) you probably want to head over to our wedding venue at some point. *This is easier to do by car. The wedding and reception will be at Laurel Picnic Area in Tilden Park. Here are driving directions from downtown Berkeley. Here are driving directions from Walnut Creek. As you can see it's not super straight forward so please give yourself a little extra time.
Or if you have GPS, we have coordinates for you:

and again zoomed in to the region of interest....
The parking lot is off of South Park Drive. There will be a sign that says 'Laurel' on it. Now you'll just take a short walk to either Laurel Picnic Area or Gillespie Group Camp. Cellular service is spotty in Tilden so plan accordingly.
No car or designated driver? Well you could catch the #67 AC Transit bus up to the end of the line, then walk a half mile or so up S. Park Dr. to the Laurel site. Unfortunately the bus stops running at 7pm, so please let us know if you'll need a ride back so we can pre-arrange cabs to get folks at the end of the night (reminder: cellular service unreliable). Alternatively, please bum/offer rides in the comments section below. Parking will be limited and booze will be ample, so we strongly encourage designating drivers and carpooling.
